Welcome to “The A.D. Sakharov Armenian Human Rights Protection Centre” NGO.

We are an independent, non-political, and non-profit civil society organization dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights in Armenia. The Centre is the legal successor of the Sakharov Armenian Foundation for Progress, Protection of Human Rights and Charity, established by Decision No. 457 of the Council of Ministers of the Armenian SSR on 9 October 1990. Since then, the organization has played a pioneering role in advancing human rights protection, civil society development, and democratic values in Armenia. The organization’s headquarters are located in Yerevan, with three regional branches operating in Shirak (Gyumri), Gegharkunik (Gavar), and Syunik (Goris).

Our mission is to transform human rights principles into systemic civic innovation by producing evidence, empowering citizens, and driving institutional reforms that ensure transparent, just, and democratic governance.
