As part of our unwavering commitment to accountability, the A.D. Sakharov Armenian Human Rights Protection Centre is pleased to share our mid-year financial report for 2024.
The audit, conducted by the international firm Baker Tilly Armenia, covers the first six months (January 1 – June 30, 2024) of our flagship project: “Protection of Human Rights and Strengthening Civil Society in the Regions of the Republic of Armenia, Phase 5.”
Despite a complex regional environment, our financial management remains robust:
- Project Funding: During this six-month period, the Centre managed 25,942,750 AMD (approx. 61,500 EUR) in project funding.
- Regional Impact: These funds supported the operations of our headquarters in Yerevan and our vital branches in Shirak, Gegharkunik, and Syunik, ensuring that human rights protection reaches the most remote areas of Armenia.
- Investment in People: A significant portion of the budget was dedicated to our expert project staff and regional advocates who provide direct legal aid to our beneficiaries.
We are proud to report that the independent auditors issued an unmodified opinion. This means our financial reports accurately reflect the project’s expenses and comply with the strict international standards required by our partners.
At the Sakharov Centre, we believe that transparency is a human rights issue. By making our financial data public, we:
- Build Trust: Our donors and beneficiaries know exactly how resources are utilized.
- Ensure Sustainability: Proving financial discipline allows us to secure future funding for critical advocacy.
- Set a Standard: We lead by example, encouraging transparency across the entire Armenian NGO sector.
